The Dog Park - In the beginning
It all started with a dream. Bernita Cauthon had a vision for an off leash dog park in Blue Springs; a place where dogs could socialize and play with each other, and where dog lovers could gather.
In June of 2005, this vision was brought forward during a Stand Up Blue Springs summit, and resulted in the formation of RUFF (Responsible Unleashed Fun for Fido), a group of local citizens with the common goal of establishing an off leash dog park in Blue Springs. RUFF is co-chaired by Chris Henning and Dena McLean.

Dog Park Now Open
We’ve come a long way since June of 2005. 2.7 acres of land in the new Gregory O Grounds Park has been turned into Blue Springs first Off-Leash Dog Park. The dog park includes access to a small pond, lots of open space, and large trees for shade. We’ve included a people/canine water fountain, and a dog wash area at the exit. The park offically opened August 11th, 2007.
